Hangul Hero is a language learning app designed to teach Korean vocabulary through the context of real K-drama dialogue. It combines an effective spaced repetition system (SRS) with authentic examples to help you learn the way native speakers learn.

TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) is the official Korean language test. Hangul Hero organizes vocabulary by TOPIK levels 1 to 6. If you are just starting, you are level 1. If you know basic grammar and a few hundred words, you might be level 2.

Hangul Hero uses a modified SM-2 spaced repetition algorithm. When you study a card, you rate how well you knew it. Cards you struggle with will appear more frequently, while cards you know well will be scheduled further into the future to optimize your memory retention.

As you browse lessons in the Curriculum section, you can click on vocabulary words that you want to learn to add them to your daily study queue. You will see these words during your standard review sessions.

Yes! Hangul Hero is fully responsive and works well on mobile browsers. A dedicated mobile app for iOS and Android is currently on our roadmap for the future.
